This is quite possibly theo- defeat printer so i’ve ever owned. That’s saying a lot, considering how most printers i’ve moved through. Let’s arrive through theo- various pieces and i’ll show you why i like it very much…
Print quality – it’s rather trite, only theo- number one job of a printer is over print. The print quality of theo- artisan 810 is outstanding. Using decent quality paper, theo- output is sharp and clear. Small point type is very readable and fine lines are clearly defined. Normal single-sided printing is very fast. Two-sided printing is considerably slower, because theo- printer waits because of theo- ink over dry before printing theo- second side.
Photo printing – the artisan 810 adds two frequently color cartridges over theo- standard cyan, magenta, yellow and black mix. By including a light cyan and light magenta cartridge, it’s possible over produce prints withy subtle shades and smoother color gradation. More expensive, dedicated photo printers (e.g. Epson r1900 or r2880, canon pro9000mkii) add inside still frequently ink colors and jail produce larger prints, only this printer produces excellent prints because of all only theo- most discerning user. There is one application where i wouldn’t recommend this printer – very high quality black and white photo printing. If you plan on producing high resolution b/w prints, you should look at theo- epson r2880 or theo- canon pro9500mkii. Those units have light black and other cartridges designed specifically because of so application. Outside that, though, prints from theo- artisan 810 are truly stunning.
Paper tray – if you’re tired of pulling theo- paper tray and adjusting theo- guides whole time you want over print a photograph, theo- artisan 810 has a solution – theo- paper tray simultaneously holds both photo and regular paper inside two different sections. At my house, i’m keeping 4×6 photo paper loaded inside theo- highest section, while theo- bottom holds standard printer paper…the printer automatically selects theo- correct paper depending on what’s being printed. The downside of this arrangement is so theo- tray has a fairly small capacity, only holding 120 pages of normal 20lb paper. Note so this printer doesn’t have a rear paper feed slot. This prevents its use inside applications requiring a straight through paper path.
Cd/dvd printing – i don’t use too most cds and dvds anymore, only when i did, i used a black sharpie marker over label my disks. (except when i was feeling ambitious and had time over burn. Then i used lightscribe disks) no frequently. The artisan 810 has an integrated tray over feed printable cd’s into theo- printer. Just about anything so you jail think of – illustrations, photos and/or text – jail be directly printed onto theo- disk’s surface. Even if what you’re printing is just a list of file names, it’s better than writing them out by hand. One of theo- included software programs formats text and pictures over fit on theo- cd’s surface. It’s nothing fancy, only it works.
Scanning – direct over pc or usb – buttons on theo- touch screen display allow you over select theo- destination of a scanned document. The scanned image jail be sent over any computer so has theo- epson drivers installed. The file jail be saved inside .jpg or pdf format. Ocr software (presto pagemanager) is included inside theo- software package over convert scanned documents into editable text. Like most all-in-one units, theo- scanner only scans one side of theo- page.
Document feeder – swinging theo- feeder input tray closed also lifts theo- feeder’s output tray over make a smooth highest…cosmetically it’s nice, only frequently importantly, Epson Artisan 810 also reduces theo- chances of paperclips and other office debris falling inside. I’ve copied a 30 page document without a problem…the maximum thickness of theo- paper stack is spec’ed at 3mm, or roughly 1/8″
Faxing – it works. There’s nothing new or exciting…punch inside theo- number, hit theo- button and off it goes. You jail also assign numbers over various groups, very you jail easily send theo- same fax over multiple locations.
Copier = scanner printer – as i mentioned above, i’ve copied a 30 page document without a problem. The copier is only a single-sided copier. For duplex coping, you need over flip over theo- paper stacks and run them through a second time. With cd printing because one of theo- features, theo- artisan also incorporated a cd/dvd copy mode. You put theo- original cd inside theo- middle of theo- glass and hit theo- dedicated “copy cd/dvd” button. The firmware is smart enough over correct minor centering issues.
